🎉 Record-Breaking Success for Uxbridge DECA! 🎉

Posted Date: 01/09/26 (08:00 AM)

We are incredibly proud to announce that our DECA team achieved their best performance ever at the District Competition at Nichols College this past Thursday!
What is DECA?
For those who may not know, DECA is a global organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. It is much more than a club; it is a co-curricular competitive program where students simulate real-world business scenarios.
Through DECA, our students move beyond the classroom to develop critical career skills, including:

  • Problem Solving: Analyzing complex business case studies.
  • Public Speaking: Pitching ideas confidently to industry professionals acting as judges.
  • Professionalism: Learning the art of networking, business dress, and interview skills.
The Competition
Our 23 Spartans put these skills to the test against over 800 students from across the district in 50 different categories. They competed in two main formats:
  • Role Plays: Students are given a surprise business scenario (e.g., handling a difficult client or fixing a supply chain issue) and must present a solution on the spot.
  • Written Events: Students research, write, and present comprehensive business plans or community service projects.
The Results
This year marks the largest number of District competitors and State Qualifiers UHS has ever had! Students who finished in the top 4 have qualified for the State Competition in March.
Please join us in congratulating our winners:
