UHS: Worcester County Superintendents Association Scholar Luncheon

Posted Date: 03/25/26 (02:37 PM)

On Wednesday, March 25, Superintendent David Ljungberg and UHS Principal Michael Rubin accompanied Daniel Mach of the UHS Class of 2026 to the Worcester County Superintendents Association's annual scholarship recognition luncheon. The event was held at the Hogan Center at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.

Each school in Worcester Country recognizes one (and sometimes two, depending on school size) scholar for his or her contributions to the school community. Daniel, who plans on attending the University of Alabama Honors College in the fall, has been a top student at UHS over the course of his time, having enrolled in multiple advanced courses, having taken college and AP level courses while at UHS. He will graduate as UHS' all-time leading medalist in Science Olympiad, and he has even enrolled in two additional AP classes this year as independent studies, since they are in disciplines not typically offered at UHS!

Daniel is intending on studying pre-med as a student in the Honors College at the University of Alabama, to which he committed earlier this year.
