Brad Creighton, a longtime high school football coach who most recently served as Uxbridge’s Defensive Coordinator, has been named head coach of the Uxbridge High School football team. Creighton has been on the coaching staff for Uxbridge since 2020, having served as the defensive coordinator for the Spartans. Over the past five seasons, Uxbridge has registered a record of 47-12, including consecutive Division VII Super Bowl titles in 2023 and 2024.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Creighton into this role and look forward to the direction he will take our program,” said Uxbridge Athletic Director Beth Wandyes. “He has been an integral part of our recent success and the foundation we’ve built. This transition offers a valuable opportunity to maintain continuity while further growing and strengthening our program.”

“It is a tremendous honor to lead a program that means so much to me as an alumnus of UHS,” said Coach Creighton. “While I am thrilled for this opportunity, I know that our success—including our two recent Super Bowl titles—is a result of the collective work put in by this entire coaching staff, the commitment of incredible student-athletes, and the support and partnership with dedicated families and administration. I am excited to continue that partnership. Together, we are committed to building on the championship standard we’ve established and providing our student-athletes with a competitive culture they and the community can be proud of.”

Coach Creighton brings 16 years of high school coaching experience, including time as an assistant at Blackstone Valley Tech, where he helped lead the Beavers to three Super Bowl appearances and two state championship titles. He later contributed to Uxbridge High School’s success, helping the program capture two Super Bowl titles and reach the playoffs in each of the past five seasons.

In addition to his high school experience, Creighton has spent several years coaching at the youth level in football, basketball, baseball, and softball. An Uxbridge High School graduate, he was a record-setting quarterback and linebacker before continuing his playing career at Assumption University and then transferring to Florida Atlantic University.

Outside of football, Creighton works as journeyman electrical lineman/foreman with National Grid and has remained actively involved in various town and school committees and programs.

“This decision is a direct reflection of our confidence in Brad’s leadership and the veteran staff he has helped anchor,” said UHS Principal Dr. Michael Rubin. “Coach Creighton possesses a depth of football knowledge that has already helped drive us to five straight playoff appearances. We are not just hiring a head coach; we are reaffirming our belief in Coach Creighton’s acumen, enthusiasm, and passion."

"We are incredibly excited to have Coach Creighton at the helm of a coaching staff that has already proven its championship mettle,” said Ms. Wandyes. “This appointment is a testament to the collective strength and synergy of our entire staff honoring the hard work this group has put in since 2020. By promoting from within, we aren't just choosing a leader; we are validating a veteran coaching team that understands our culture and is uniquely positioned to keep our momentum moving forward."
