The Canopy project is a collaborative effort involving hundreds of organizations and schools, stewarded by the Center on Reinventing Public Education and Transcend Education. Each year, the project gathers insights from schools across the country and shares them publicly to help others learn from what’s working. As part of the Canopy project, UHS is contributing to a broader national effort to share what’s possible in education and to help others learn from approaches being developed in communities.
“We are honored to be recognized as part of the Canopy project and share our local innovations with a national audience," said Dr. Michael Rubin, Principal at Uxbridge High School. “This recognition reflects the work of our students, educators, and community to create meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for what’s next.”
Uxbridge High School’s renowned career pathway program and internships have centered the experience of students around real-world integration. Through robust industry partnerships, collaboration with the CAPS Network, and the use of tools that keep student post-secondary interests at the core of the school experiences, UHS has seen reduced dropout rate, improved attendance, and purposeful integration of work-based learning.
