Friday: School Spirit Day-wear your orange and black
Each day students dress up, students can get a ticket from Mrs. Bernard in room B206. Each ticket will be entered into a raffle for gift cards and t-shirts. After lunch on Friday, we will have our annual Pep Rally. Student Council will be sending forms out for students to sign up for events.
The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 20th from 7-10pm in the gymnasium. Please do not arrive before 7pm. This is a semi-formal dance for all students in grades 8-12. Tickets are $10 each and will be on sale during all lunches next week. Cash and checks are accepted for payment (make checks out to UHS Student Council). Tickets will not be sold at the door. If students would like to bring a guest, students need to get a guest form from the main office. All forms need to be returned to the office by Thursday, September 18th.
Please see or email Mrs. Bernard with any questions.
Animals On Campus
Please be advised: animals and pets are not permitted on school grounds or in school buildings. We recognize that sometimes people see good weather and the time while student-athletes may be at practice as an opportunity to walk their dog around the perimeter of the building or the trails at the rear. However, not everyone is gracious at cleaning up after said animal, and the inside of the building is explicitly off limits for any pet. We appreciate the cooperation.
Athletic Season Underway
The fall season is underway, with all of our teams enjoying success, from girls soccer first win of the season (2-0 over Hopedale) to consecutive shutouts for field hockey to a couple of wins for cross country on their first meet of the season. Our grade 7-8 football team got off to a hot start with a 42-0 win over Bellingham. Football opens on Friday night at Maynard. Next week, boys soccer will be back at home against Whitinsville Christian, their first home game since last Friday, as they kick off a three game week. We hope Mother Nature continues to cooperate with us!
We remind families and student-athletes that the building is intended to be secure after hours, which means limiting traffic in the hallways and remaining in athletic areas or outside, as weather permits.
Picture Day
A reminder that Picture Day is next Wednesday, September 17.
