Uxbridge High School

It's the last Friday of the school year!  We have a few updates and will have some next week as the year comes to an end.

Grade 8 Civics Projects
This week's academic highlight had to be the civics projects! The grade 8 students have been gathering information, researching topics, and finding ways to make our community better. While some of the topics certainly have a national lens, such as gun control, voting age, or student rights, other topics have focused on improving the school, like new bleachers at the school field, recycling foods, adding languages for student study, or looking at school tutoring programs, all of which will tether students to our school. It's been awesome to see, so thanks to Mr. Grady and Mr. Halacy for inspiring these students.

Athletics
Congratulations to our baseball and softball teams, both of whom advanced in the state tournament before bowing out in the quarterfinals and semifinals. They had outstanding, record-setting seasons, and the spring season concluding well after graduation is always a good sign for an athletic program! 
In that spirit, on Thursday, the SWCL Annual Banquet celebrated the successes of the programs of the league. Uxbridge, by far, had the highest number of individual and team championships, both at the local, state, and regional level. Hearing the athletic director from Quaboag read our successes in the presence of so many of our dedicated coaches. In addition, Coach Matt Blood was named the recipient of the league's Excellence in Coaching Award. We are proud of our Spartans, grateful for the leadership of Ms. Wandyes, and excited for a bright future.

Updates on Schedules
Course schedules for 2025-26 will be available over the summer. With the transition to Powerschool, some elements of the master schedule have ​been completed, and our counselors are now reviewing the schedules to ensure all students have programming needs met.
